The Limousin region is one of the old traditional provinces of France, its simply beautiful and full of glorious countryside. It is a rural region, famous for its cattle and beef as well as providing quality Oak for wine casks and furniture. Limoges is the capital of the region and makes for great days out and about taking in the history.
Vienne, the Dordogne and the Charente rivers all run through the region and there is no shortage of fishing to be found. The summers are good and temperature often exceed 30 degrees and some areas enjoy as many hours of sunshine as Toulouse in the south.
