U turn on caravan VAT

UK government have backed down over 20% for static holiday homes sales

You may have heard the good news, the UK government have done a “U turn” over the proposed 20% VAT addition to static holiday home sales. This comes as great news for everyone involved in holiday homes and holiday parks, especially as it was set to be the holiday home owners that would be hit hardest being the end user.

Static caravan holiday home sales will still attract 5%, but this will now be delayed until April 2013 rather than the planned October 2012. Industry chiefs hope that this will now boost confidence and people will go ahead and get their dream holiday homes.
